No Fault Found Discount
We understand that not every appliance issue turns out to be a fault—sometimes, it’s a simple case of user error or a misinterpreted symptom. In these situations, if no actual fault is found during the visit, a 35% discount may be applied to the fixed price repair fee. This discount is offered at the discretion of the attending engineer, based on the nature of the visit and the time spent on-site.
Unrepairable Appliance Discount
In some cases, a repair may be deemed unviable—not due to a lack of technical solution, but because the cost of required parts exceeds the value of a replacement appliance. When this happens and the customer chooses not to proceed, a 50% discount will be applied to the fixed price repair fee. This is our way of keeping things fair when a repair is technically possible but not economically sensible.
Please note: Any parts that have already been ordered and fitted are non-refundable, as they are specific to your appliance and cannot be reused or returned.
Choosing Not to Proceed with a Cost-Effective Repair
If a repair is technically and economically viable, but the customer chooses not to proceed—for example, declining a cost-effective solution—the unrepairable appliance discount may not apply. In these cases, the full fixed price repair fee will still apply, reflecting the time and expertise invested in identifying a working solution.
That said, a discount may be offered at the discretion of the attending engineer, depending on the specific circumstances of the visit.
Third Visit Goodwill Discount
At PYM & GILL, we aim to resolve all appliance issues within one or two visits—typically covering diagnostics, on-the-spot repairs, and any necessary follow-up with ordered parts. However, in the rare event that a third visit is required to complete the same repair, we recognise the inconvenience this may cause.
As a gesture of goodwill, we offer a 45% discount on the cost of any parts used during the third visit, where applicable. This discount reflects our commitment to customer care and our appreciation for your patience and understanding.
